Facelift

As people age, the effects of gravity, exposure to the sun, and the stress of everyday life can be seen on their faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth; the jaw line grows slack and jowly; folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. A facelift can't stop the aging process. What it can do is "set back the clock", improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and re-draping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone or in conjunction with other procedures.

There is no "right age" for a facelift but by having it performed at a younger age the procedure can be less extensive. Each person is different; therefore the procedure must be individualized for each person. The object is to achieve a natural look, not one that is overdone. Using computer imaging it is now possible to see before hand what may be achieved by surgery.

Eyelid Surgery

To see examples of eyelid procedures, click here.

Aesthetic eyelid surgery, also called "blephroplasty," removes the excess fat and wrinkled, drooping skin of the upper eyelids that can make you look constantly tired or sad. It also eliminates bags under the eyes and tightens the lower eyelid skin. The result is a brighter, more alert and rested appearance. The surgery may be performed alone or in conjunction with a facelift or brow lift. Swelling and bruising varies among patients and is normally gone in 7 to 10 days. Nose Surgery

Cosmetic surgery of the nose, also called rhinoplasty, can improve the shape, size and general appearance of the nose. The goal is a nose that looks natural and achieves a harmonious balance with your the facial features. Alterations may be made to increase or decrease the nasal bridge, reduce the size or width of the nose, narrow the nostrils, change the angle between the nose and upper lip, or reshape the tip. The surgical techniques used will depend on the individual goals you are trying to achieve. Computer imaging is helpful in planning the surgery and allowing you to see the planned results. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. While most insurance companies will not pay for cosmetic reshaping of the nose, they frequently will cover surgery performed on the internal structures of the nose to improve breathing problems. Brow Lift

As aging progresses, skin wrinkling and a loss of tone can occur in the forehead area as it dose in the eyelids and lower parts of the face. This may cause sagging of the eyebrows, resulting in a tired or sad look and aggravating the appearance of excess skin of the upper eyelids. It may also result in deepening of the horizontal expression lines and wrinkling of the forehead itself. There may be deep, vertical frown lines between the eyebrows in the center of the forehead. The forehead lift is designed to correct these problems. The forehead lift may be done in conjunction with other facial procedures.
